Shadow

Posted by Nicole Asher on

Shadow has been safely captured in Allendale, NJ. Shadow was rescued from Dead Dog Beach in Puerto Rico where he lived as a street dog for approximately five years. He was very street wise and weary of humans.

He arrived in the states just two weeks ago only to slip out of his harness and once again he was off and running.

The Sato Project contacted me immediately and I headed out first thing this morning. He was crossing very busy streets and running out in front of cars because people were pursuing and chasing him. Once the chasing stopped and he no longer felt threatened, he made his way to the trap.

Thankfully this was a relatively quick capture but this could have had a completely different ending. I can’t stress enough that flight risk dogs get out of harnesses all the time, this is why we stress martingale collars along with harnesses. Double up and keep them safe. Welcome back Shadow.
