Missing since May 27th... Georgie has been trapped after 108 days on the run and traveling over 15 miles!!
The start to Memorial Day weekend turned in to a nightmare when Georgie bolted after a squirrel at Sebago Lake in NY, quickly disappearing in to the trails and deep woods. Days turned into weeks, weeks turned in to months, not one sighting of Georgie. I began working with the family this weekend and had them dramatically expand their poster coverage. Yesterday evening a call came in, a hiker spotted a "large brown something possibly a bear or large dog" running into the woods off Ramapo State Forest. I immediately headed out, hiked deep in to the woods off the pipeline and set up a camera and feeding station. Sure enough a hungry chocolate lab showed on camera. I set up a trap early this morning and by this afternoon Georgie's grand summer adventure was over.
