Nicky aka "ball field dog"

Posted by Nicole Asher on

This rescue was heartbreaking! When we arrived, he cautiously came out of hiding and was soon eating from our hands. He would hear the noise of predators in the woods all around and quickly retreat back to the other side of the stone wall where he would rest. We decided that setting the trap would be the best option. Once set we went back to our car and within twenty minutes he was in our trap. We called the ACO with the good news that he was now safe and we arranged to transport him to animal control. He is not chipped, he is emaciated, covered in ticks and very sad and confused. Who could do this to such a sweet soul?!
Thank you to all who cared about this boy and would bring him food at the baseball field. Thank you ACO Joan Lamont for working with us, I know he will be in good hands. It was heartbreaking to say goodbye to this boy, but I just know a beautiful forever home is awaiting him!!! Sleep tight sweet boy and know you are now safe and loved by so many.
