Orchard Beach Stray

Posted by Nicole Asher on

Monday night at 11:30, a U-Haul was spotted dumping three innocent pups right outside the entrance of Orchard Beach in the Bronx. I simply can’t wrap my had around the evil that walks amongst us, it never ends.

The parks department was able to catch two of the pups, but the third was terrified and remained extremely elusive.

My dear friend and rescue partner in the Bronx, Laura Dellatte contacted me and once again we were off on another unstoppable mission for yet another abandoned soul.

This little baby girl now alone was desperately searching for her siblings, running back towards the spot where she was dumped. Running the double yellow line through traffic and then back into the woods.

After two all nighters in Orchard Beach, this afternoon our camera finally went off…she was in the trap and finally safe!!!

We are searching for the whereabouts of the two siblings that were caught on Monday. We were informed that the parks department brought them to the 45 precinct and then they were brought to the ACC. We have rescue placement but the dogs are no where to be found and not at the ACC as we were told. We would like to see this trio reunited after such a traumatic experience.

Very grateful to the kind woman on her way home from work who spotted the dogs right after they were thrown from the U-Haul truck and Melissa Barbella for reaching out for help. A huge thank you to the parks department at Orchard Beach for allowing us to be on site after hours in restricted areas.

If anyone has any information regarding the U-Haul truck with Arizona plates or as to the whereabouts of the two other pups that were supposedly brought to the ACC, please contact us. You can private message our page and you will remain anonymous.

Animal abandonment is on the rise and happening in epidermic proportions. We can not keep up with the amount of dogs being discarded, we need to do better, because they deserve better….THEY MATTER!
